Lowcountry Trades Showcase — June 2026
Fister Landscapes
A note on this one: this is a past client, written up from work already shot on their job sites — an example of what a showcase looks like. September's showcase is Curt's Canvas.
Introduction
Fister Landscapes is a family-owned landscape, hardscape, seawall and turf company in Mount Pleasant, run by Richard Fister. Paver patios, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits, lighting, sod and turf, seawalls, and irrigation from full installs down to fixing somebody else's leaking zone valve. Their whole approach comes down to treating a customer's yard the way they'd treat their own — and in 2026 they were named a finalist for outdoor contractor in Mount Pleasant Magazine's Best of Mount Pleasant, which is a decent sign the neighbors agree.
The Project
This showcase pulls from a run of Fister's recent job-site coverage — hardscape installs, drone passes over finished properties, and before/after transformations across the Mount Pleasant and Charleston area.
The Work
Ground-level walkthroughs paired with drone coverage show both the close-up hardscape detail and how each finished property reads from above — full lot lines, layout, and scale.
The People
Family-owned means the same few faces turn up on every job, and that the person who sold you the work is the person standing in your yard when it goes wrong. There's no layer between the owner and the workmanship. It shows.
It's a family-friendly crew in the literal sense — there's a decent chance the Fisters turn up with their Boykin spaniels in tow, and the dogs supervise the hardscape from whatever patch of shade they've claimed. Since the Boykin is the South Carolina state dog, it's hard to imagine anything more Lowcountry than a pair of them asleep on a half-finished paver patio.
It sounds like a small thing. It isn't. A crew relaxed enough to bring the dogs is a crew that likes the work and gets on with each other, and that comes through on camera in a way nobody can fake for a shoot day.
The Craftsmanship
Tight paver joints, seawall work that has to stand up to Lowcountry water year after year, turf and planting that still looks right a season later. A seawall in particular is not a place to cut a corner — it either holds or somebody loses part of their yard to the creek.
Why We Chose Them
"Treat it like your own yard" is the easiest sentence in this industry to say and one of the hardest to actually live up to. Having shot Fister's jobs across Mount Pleasant, Awendaw, Dunes West and Edisto, we've watched them hold that line on work nobody was going to inspect. That's the whole reason they're here.
And plainly: they're a pleasure to work with. Easy on site, straight about timing, and genuinely proud of what they're building — which is most of what makes a shoot day go well.
